Women’s Australasian Order retreat in
New Zealand
In January 2008, 29 Dharmacarinis gathered
at an environmental camp at Awhitu on the north
island of NZ.
Parami, a public preceptor from
Scotland
was leading the retreat on the topic of Atisha’s 7 Point Mind training.
Parami gave useful and inspiring talks each morning and led
devotional pujas each night. Her strong desire to see the arising of the
Bodhicitta in the world filtered through her dharma teaching and practice.
We welcomed new Dharmacrinis ordained last year; including Vidyatara from
Melbourne, Gambhiraja from Canberra
and Buddhankapali from Sydney.
The Women's Order in Australasia plans to hold one of these
retreats biennially.
