Long Weekend Retreat Mantra and Meditation 5 to 8 March 2010
The retreat will be exploring connections between the voice and body, silence and sound, meditation and mantra. "Mantra" means "to protect the mind", and is an important part of Buddhist meditation and devotional practice. Chanting, internally or externally, helps us to focus the mind and deepen our faith. Led by Suryagita, an experienced teacher of the Alexander Technique and voice work, who will be visiting Melbourne from New Zealand.
The weekend is suitable for those with at least some knowledge of Buddhism and experience of our meditation practices (mindfulness of breathing and metta bhavana).
